The special song at Princess Ines’s christening

A special song was played at the beginning of Princess Ines’s christening as a tribute to her parents on their tenth wedding anniversary.

As Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Ines, Prince Alexander, Prince Gabriel and Prince Julian entered the Royal Chapel at Drottningholm Palace, an emotional tune was played by the musicians.

The instrumental version of Till mitt sista andetag, or Till my last breath in English, was played for the Prince Couple’s Family, and the choice of the song was quite special.

Princess Sofia wrote the lyrics to the song for her 2015 wedding to Prince Carl Philip, and Molly Sandén and Danny Saucedo put them to music and made a song. It was first played at the couple’s wedding reception as a loving tribute to her new husband.

In her own words, Sofia explained the song at the reception, “I wanted to do something of my own, for my husband, so I wrote down some words that explain my love for you.”

As Sandén and Saucedo sang at the reception, Sofia sang the song to an emotional Prince Carl Philip:

“Everything I am, everything I have, until my last breath, I will love you.”

It was only fitting to play the song at such an important event, which happened to coincide with Carl Philip and Sofia’s 10th wedding anniversary. And how special was it to walk into the Royal Chapel with their four children as the song played once again.
