The Swedish Royal Family dusted off their finest jewels for the Nobel Prize Ceremony and Banquet in Stockholm.
King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill attended the Nobel Prize Ceremony at Stockholm’s Concert Hall before the Nobel Banquet in the evening at Stockholm’s City Hall.
The King personally handed out the Nobel Prizes to this year’s laureates in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and economic sciences. Each of the winners also gave speeches to the invited guests as part of the ceremony.
In the evening, the winners were honoured with a banquet at Stockholm City Hall and were escorted into the building by a member of the Royal Family. The royals sat scattered throughout the hall to chat with the laureates and their families.
The Nobel Prizes are one of the most watched royal events of the year with many wanting to see what gowns and jewels the royal ladies wear. For Queen Silvia, she repeated a navy gown by Maknam with the Lauchtenberg Sapphire Tiara and accompanying jewels.
Crown Princess Victoria wore a Christer Lindarw gown, as reported by Expressen, and the Baden Fringe Tiara. Princess Madeleine returned to the Nobels in a deep green gown by Fadi El Khoury and the Connaught Diamond Tiara. Pregnant Princess Sofia was seen in a gown by Soeren Le Schmidt in royal blue with her wedding tiara with London blue topaz toppers.
This isn’t the last Nobel-related event for the Swedish royals. The King will host the laureates at the Royal Palace for a gala dinner on 11 December.
