Swedish Royal Family already has plans for Princess Estelle’s children

Princess Estelle may only be 12, but the Swedish Royal Family already has plans for her children.

As Estelle is a future Queen of Sweden, the Royal Court has already given thought to the dukedoms her children may receive.

The dukedom of Öland has been set aside for her first child – another future King or Queen of Sweden.

Öland is a very special place to the Royal Family. It is where they spend their summers at Solliden Palace and where Crown Princess Victoria greets the public on her birthday in July. As the location is very near to the royals’ hearts, it only makes sense to give that special dukedom to a future monarch.

Some thought that the newborn Princess Ines would receive Öland as her dukedom, but it was not meant to be. Instead, she is the Duchess of Västerbotten, a title that was held by her paternal great-grandparents.

While Ines didn’t get Öland, she still received a dukedom close to the hearts of her family.
