Sweden and the Swedish Royal Family celebrated Victoria Day in typical fashion on Sunday.
The annual celebration of Crown Princess Victoria’s birthday began at Solliden Palace where people gathered in the garden to see the Crown Princess and other members of the Royal Family.
Crown Princess Victoria, her husband Prince Daniel and their two children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, were joined by King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia at Solliden Palace on the island of Oland. Victoria’s siblings, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia were joined by their respective spouses, Princess Sofia and Chris O’Neill. All of the Crown Princess’s nieces and nephews were also in attendance: Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas, Princess Adrienne, Prince Alexander, Prince Gabriel and Prince Julian.
The King led the cheers for his eldest child before Victoria went around to greet the members of the crowd and accept gifts for her 47th birthday.
Later a video was released of Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar playing volleyball with Swedish volleyball player and winner of the Victoria Day Scholarship, Isabelle Haak.
Also to honour Her Royal Highness, the traditional 21-gun salute took place in Stockholm, Karlskrona, Gothenburg, Härnösand and Boden.
The Crown Princess Family then left Solliden in a carriage for the Borgholm’s castle ruins where the annual Victoria Concert took place. Edda Magnason, Molly Hammar, Albin Lee Meldau, Olivia Lobato and Lena Philipsson performed before the adult members of the Royal Family, as well as Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar.
Victoria then awarded Haak with the Victoria Prize.
