A group of approximately 50 republicans are planning a protest against the monarchy on King’s Day.
To allow for the demonstration, the group has been given a special section near the city hall in Emmen. According to the county, they have made good arrangements with the protesters.
One of the program managers told Dagblad van het Noorden, “They do this quite often, and their protests are always civilised and orderly. That is something they value themselves as well.”
The Dutch royals have been informed that the protesters will be present during King’s Day.
