Queen Sonja of Norway has been admitted to hospital.

According to the Royal Court, the Queen, 87, was admitted to Lillehammer Hospital for observation for atrial fibrillation on the evening of 11 January.

The Royal Court said in a press release that Her Majesty is doing well and the situation is not considered serious.

“The Queen suffered atrial fibrillation during a skiing trip earlier today. The situation is not considered serious and the Queen is in good shape,” they said.
