Queen Máxima of the Netherlands denies mocking US President Donald Trump while he was in the Netherlands for the NATO Summit.

While meeting President Trump alongside King Willem-Alexander at Paleis Huis ten Bosch, the Queen was seen appearing to make a face after speaking to the President.

The video became viral, with many assuming Queen Máxima was mocking his facial expression.

However, the Queen has clarified that she was not mocking the President at all.

Instead, she mouthed thank you to someone who had helped her.

Queen Máxima explained during the Royal Family’s summer photo call, “I thanked someone who had helped me. I said ‘thank you'”.

The American leader stayed the night at the palace while in the Netherlands for the NATO Summit.
