Queen Margrethe discharged from hospital

Queen Margrethe has been discharged from Rigshospitalet and is returning home.

Queen Margrethe of Denmark has been discharged from Copenhagen’s Rigshospitalet [the National Hospital] following admission for blood pooling in the hip region.

The former Queen is doing well according to the Royal Court that adds Her Majesty will “need to take it easy.”

In the coming days, Her Majesty’s participation at planned events will be assessed on an ongoing basis. At present, there are no changes to already announced official engagements.

The Royal Court says in full,

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe is on her way home to Fredensborg Palace after being discharged from Rigshospitalet over lunch.

Her Majesty is doing well, but, as with her discharge from the hospital on May 19, must continue to take it easy.

Queen Margrethe’s participation in planned appearances will be assessed on an ongoing basis. At present, there are no changes to already announced official appearances.
