Princess Sofia stepped out for her first royal engagement since announcing her fourth pregnancy and revealed if her three sons want a sister or brother.

While Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip were in Varmland, they spoke to the press about their recent announcement.

Princess Sofia told Svenskdam that Princes Alexander, Gabriel and Julian are “very happy and full of anticipation” for a new sibling, but that they hope they have a baby brother.

Prince Carl Philip added that they are “overjoyed” at having a fourth child.

The new royal baby is due in February 2025 and will be eighth in line to the Swedish throne.

The new prince or princess will join big brothers, Prince Alexander (8), Prince Gabriel (7) and Prince Julian (3). He or she will hold a princely title but no royal style. They will also not be a member of the Royal House.
