Princess Sofia of Sweden returned to royal duties to inaugurate a sculpture alongside Prince Carl Philip.

Princess Sofia has been on maternity leave, sans a few appearances at the Royal Palace, since the birth of her daughter, Princess Ines, in February 2025.

The Princess and Prince Carl Philip revealed the Little Girl’s Launch sculpture by artist Peter Linde at the renovated fountain park at Djurgårdsbrunn in Stockholm’s Royal Djurgården. The park is located not too far from the family’s home at Villa Solbacken.

The duo turned the water on for the fountain that contains the Little Girl’s Launch as part of the inauguration, which Prince Carl Philip called “great fun.”

Sofia also helped celebrate the 15th anniversary of Project Playground in September, which she founded alongside her friend, Frida Vesterberg.

While Princess Sofia has stepped out for two royal engagements in the last couple of weeks, she remains on maternity leave. At present, there are no other engagements on the calendar for the mum of four.
