Norway’s Princess Astrid attended the Biathlon World Cup in Holmenkollen.
The Princess, who is an older sister to King Harald of Norway, sat in the King’s Stand to watch the winter sporting events including biathlon, ski jumping, and cross-country.
She was joined by the Minister of Culture and Equality Lubna Jaffery, City Councilor Eirik Lae Solberg, Chairman of the Holmenkollen Ski Festival Birger Magnus, President of the IBU Olle Dahlin and President of the Norwegian Biathlon Union Arne Horten.
Switzerland’s Lena Häcki-Gross won the women’s biathlon, while the Norwegian Sturla Holm Lægreid won the men’s event. Princess Astrid congratulated both winners from the royal box.
The Princess celebrated her 92nd birthday on 12 February but continues to undertake the occasional royal duty on behalf of her brother, King Harald, 87.
