Prince and Princess of Monaco visit Spain

The Prince and Princess of Monaco were in Madrid to open an exhibit to celebrate the relationship between Monaco and Spain.

The Prince and Princess joined King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain for a tour of commemorative exhibitions for the 150th anniversary of Monaco and Spain’s first diplomatic mission.

They were joined by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Principality of Monaco, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Ambassador of Monaco to Spain, Catherine Fautrier-Rousseau, and Spain’s Minister of the Presidency, Justice, and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños.

During the tour, the group viewed documents, archives and images over the five centuries the countries have had relations.

The exhibits “8th Monaco Artists Forum” and “Monaco and Spain: five centuries of shared history” are located at the Royal Botanical Garden-CSIC in Madrid.

Regarding the artist forum, Casa Real explained that it contains “works by more than fifty professional and amateur artists, both Monegasque and residents, through paintings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, and digital drawings, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of the Principality’s art scene.”

“Monaco and Spain: five centuries of shared history” has been organised by the Embassy of Monaco in Spain to “highlight the historical, cultural, and diplomatic ties between the two countries,” according to Casa Real.

The royal concluded their day speaking to attendees at the Glorieta de los Plátanos.

Earlier in the day, the Prince of Monaco met King Felipe for lunch at Zarzuela Palace.
