Albert II, Prince of Monaco has decreed three days of national mourning in Monaco for Pope Francis.
The mourning will last from Thursday, April 24, to Saturday, April 26, the day of Pope Francis’s funeral.
The Prince also ordered that flags be flown at half-mast on all public buildings in the Principality. This starts immediately. The buildings will also be unlit during the three days of national mourning.
The Principality will also observe a minute of silence on April 25, at precisely 11:00 A.M. This will be announced by a siren.
During the mourning, public services will continue to run.
Prince Albert “reiterates his deep emotion at the announcement of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis, whose passing has brought grief to the people of Monaco and deeply affected the faithful around the world.”
