King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands has paid a visit to the Salon de Provence airbase in France.
He was accompanied by Andre Steur, Lieutenant General in the Royal Netherlands Air Force, and Lieutenant Colonel Alphons Jacobs.
The visit began with a flight in an Alpha jet of the Patrouille de France, which had flown back from Belgium to the Salon de Provence after taking part in an air show. King Willem-Alexander was given a tour of the Caracal Helicopter and learned about the unit of Special Operations, which used these helicopters.
The new Dutch Special Operations Squadron will be able to work together with the navy, army and NATO partners. Using the helicopter, they will be able to go deep into enemy territory to carry out their assignments.
