Princess Eléonore of Belgium donned her first tiara during the state banquet in honour of the Japanese Emperor and Empress.
The youngest child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde made her tiara debut at the Palace of Laeken for Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako. As she only turned 18 earlier this year, this was also the royal’s first state banquet, and the first time that all four of the King and Queen’s children were in attendance for such an event.
The diadem was a gift from her parents for her 18th birthday in April 2026. The rose-cut diamond tiara was made by Brussels jeweller Coosemans. The clover on the top of the tiara can be taken off and worn as a brooch.
This information was later confirmed to Dutch reporter Rick Evers.
According to Benjamin Vaesen, Eléonore’s gold and silver tiara was sold at an auction at the II Ponte Auction House in November 2019 for €26,000.
Princess Eléonore was pictured in her birthday tiara in an official photo released by the Belgian Royal Palace that was taken ahead of the state banquet.
