King Haakon VIII of Norway will deliver a memorial speech for his father, King Harald.
The speech will be broadcast today, Saturday, August 29, at 7:00 PM local time.
King Harald V died yesterday morning in the national hospital in Oslo. His body was moved to the royal palace last evening.
The royal procession containing the remains of the late King was accompanied by members of the royal family: King Haakon, Queen Mette-Marit, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra, Queen Sonja, Prince Sverre Magnus and Princess Märtha Louise.
Members of the public lined the route from the hospital to the palace.
The Royal Family returned to the royal palace, where King Harald’s remains will lie in state, with the public expected to pay their homage as well. The royal court will release details on all relevant ceremonies taking place. Oslo Police have already said they are ready for all aspects in the coming days, with a national period of mourning declared by the government.
