King Felipe travels to Panama for presidential inauguration

King Felipe of Spain has travelled to Panama for the inauguration of president-elect, José Raúl Mulino Quintero.

The King travelled to Central America with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares and the Secretary of State for Ibero-America and the Caribbean and Spanish in the World, Susana Sumelzo.

His Majesty met outgoing President Laurentino Cortizo at the Las Garzas Palace on 30 June alongside Vice President José A. Gabriel Carrizo and other Panamanian government officials.

The inauguration will take place on 1 July.

It is traditional for King Felipe to attend the presidential inaugurations of political leaders in Latin America.
