King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden was on hand to release salmon into the Stockholm River.

He was invited by the city to help release 30,000 fish into the river just outside the Royal Palace.

This is an annual tradition, and this year marks the 50th anniversary. The fish are released to help maintain the biological diversity.
