King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain attended a Mass for the flood victims in Valencia.

The King and Queen attended Mass at the Cathedral of Valencia for those who died in the October flooding.

The Archbishop of Valencia, Monsignor Enrique Benavent, led the religious service in which they honoured those who died and expressed solidarity with the victims.

After the service, Their Majesties greeted some of the attendees in the congregation as they walked down the aisle. They were then sent off by the Archbishop, the Dean President of the Metropolitan Chapter of Valencia, Vicente Fontestad, and the Vice President of the Metropolitan Chapter of Valencia, Vicente Pons.

This was a more solemn trip to Valencia after their first visit following the floods resulting in them being pelted with mud and called ‘killers’ by those in the crowd. The King and Queen were praised for how they handled the situation; they worked to comfort the victims while the Prime Minister left with his security.

Close to 224 people died in the October floods in Valencia, Spain.
