Grand Duke Guillaume meets cadets from West Point

Grand Duke Guillaume V of Luxembourg received a delegation of officer cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point, along with their supervising officers.

The officer cadets are on a European tour dedicated to the memory of the Second World War. They began their tour in Auschwitz, a concentration and extermination camp in Poland, and will end in Normandy in time for the 82nd anniversary of D-Day.

The Grand Duke and the officer cadets shared their experiences at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and West Point. The Grand Duke attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst between 2001 and 2002. He also spoke about the importance of peace and freedom, and recalled the sacrifice of the American soldiers who fought for the liberation of Europe.
