Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg have made a Joyous Entry into Ehnen.

The Joyous Entry in Ehnen is the third of five entries planned. The first visit was to Esch in April, and the second visit was to Troisvierges in July.

Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie headed down the Moselle to visit Ehnen and Wormeldange. They travelled between the towns on board the MS Princesse Marie-Astrid, which was named after Grand Duke Guillaume’s aunt. On the same vessel, the historic Schengen Agreement was signed in 1985. Luxembourg’s oldest woman, 107-year-old Pauline Becker-Blasius from Stadtbredimus, was a guest of honour on board.

In Wormeldange, the royal couple was welcomed by mayor Claude Pundel. They were serenaded by 110 children from the Billek Elementary School in Dreiborn, who sang ‘De Grand-Duc ass haut bei eis‘ (The Grand Duke is with us today). They visited stands with local products, such as wine and Rosport mineral water and met with representatives of the regional tourist board. The Grand Duke and Grand Duchesses roasted marshmallows with the Wormeldange scout troop. The Grand Duke is the Chief Scout of Luxembourg.
