Crown Princess Victoria and her family paid a special visit on Christmas Eve.
The Crown Princess, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar visited the Swedish customs staff at Värtahamnen in Stockholm to wish them well on the holiday.
The family had coffee with the workers, learned about the work they do and chatted ahead of their festive celebrations, and Prince Oscar even got the opportunity to play with the customs team’s search dog, Vittra.
The Royal Court said the family made the trip to wish them a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year since organisations like theirs have to work throughout the year – even on special holidays.
The visit to Värtahamnen wasn’t the only festive event on the cards for the Crown Princess.
The future Queen of Sweden read the Christmas Gospel (Luke 2:1–20) on SVT from the Royal Palace’s Royal Chapel, and it was later shared on the Royal Court’s social media channels.
This specific Bible verse depicts the birth of Jesus Christ and is read in many homes and churches on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The Swedish Royal Family will spend the holiday privately as they do not have any public events during Christmas, unlike their counterparts in Norway and the UK, who attend public church services on Christmas Day.
