Crown Prince Christian appointed Second Lieutenant

Crown Prince Christian of Denmark has been appointed as Second Lieutenant.

The appointment took place at the Lieutenant’s Training Appointment Parade at the Guards’ Barracks in Slagelse.

This marks the completion of the Crown Prince’s officer training. He began training in August 2025 after completing his military service at the Guard Hussar Regiment.

The ceremony was attended by King Frederik and Queen Mary, and Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent. They watched the parade alongside the families and relatives of the other newly appointed lieutenants.

Crown Prince Christian will be continuing his military service with the Royal Life Guards. From August, he will serve as a platoon leader for a team of conscripts at the Guards Barracks in Høvelte. He will be responsible for the training and daily management of conscripts.
