Princess Sofia of Sweden has given birth to her and Prince Carl Philip’s fourth child.

Sofia gave birth to a girl today at 1.10 P.M. at Danderyd Hospital with Prince Carl Philip by her side.

The baby weighs 3645 grams and is 49 cm long.

Both Sofia and her child are doing well.

“We are happy to welcome our newborn daughter into the world. The big brothers are now looking forward to getting to know their new little sister,” said Prince Carl Philip.

The royal baby is eighth in the line of succession but does not hold the style of Royal Highness. Only the children of Crown Princess Victoria hold the styles of Royal Highness as they are in the direct line of succession.

Sweden’s newest royal has three older brothers: Prince Alexander (8), Prince Gabriel (7) and Prince Julian (3).

The royal baby’s name and dukedom will be announced in the coming days at a cabinet meeting at Stockholm Palace by King Carl Gustaf.
