Queen Margrethe hosted a New Year’s party for her patronages at Christian IX’s Palace at Amalienborg.

The 10 January event at Christian IX’s Palace began with guests greeting the Queen in the Blue Hall.

They were then welcomed by the Head of the Court in the State Room before Her Majesty gave a speech.

Guests were entertained with music from the UngKlang Vocal Ensemble while sipping on wine before they were able to have conversations with Queen Margrethe in the Yellow Salon.

The Royal House later released images from inside the reception.

Queen Margrethe abdicated in January 2024 in favour of her son, Frederik. While no longer reigning, she still undertakes royal engagements throughout the year.
