Queen Margrethe of Denmark has designed a new peacock curtain for the Pantomime Theatre in Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.

The Pantomime Theatre will unveil the curtain alongside its 150th anniversary celebrations. Queen Margrethe will attend the unveiling. The train of the peacock is crafted from a highly durable canvas and hand-painted according to Queen Margrethe’s instructions.

Queen Margrethe said, “Ever since my childhood visit to Tivoli Gardens, I’ve been captivated by the magic of the Peacock Curtain. The concept itself is both wondrous and enchanting. It has been an exciting challenge to create an updated version now that the old one was no longer viable. I approached the task with great respect for the original concept, and it’s for others to judge my success. It has certainly been an inspiring and enjoyable project, and I eagerly await seeing the final result.”
