King Frederik and Queen Mary have marked the 300th anniversary of Fredensborg Castle Church.

Alongside Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte, they attended a concert to mark the occasion. The concert featured the Fredensborg Castle Church Girls’ Choir and Concerto Copenhagen. They performed music from around the time of the church’s founding by composers Hasse and Bach and new works written for the occasion by Louise Alenius.

The King and Queen were received by parish council chairwoman Karen Hoby Skanning and chairman of the Preservation Society Gorm Tortzen. Queen Mary received flowers from a singer from the Fredensborg Palace Church Girls’ Choir.

Fredensborg Castle Church was inaugurated on 11 October 1726, which was also King Frederik IV’s birthday. The 300th anniversary has been celebrated with several activities over the summer and autumn.
