China and Nepal were hit by catastrophic flash flooding yesterday. Over 160 people have already been confirmed dead, and this is likely to rise as hundreds remain missing. Search-and-rescue missions are currently ongoing.

In these painful hours, my family and the Monégasque population join me in offering our sincere condolences to the bereaved families and expressing all our solidarity with the Nepalese people and all the affected populations.
We salute the dedication of the rescue teams mobilised in particularly difficult conditions and wish that the search operations will allow the people who are still missing to be found as soon as possible.”
