When The Queen shocked the world

Many of you will remember the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, which has become quite the moment.

During the opening, a skit was played which involved Daniel Craig as James Bond and the Queen as, well, herself. We see Bond, James Bond, head to Buckingham Palace. He rushes upstairs to be met with several of the Queen’s corgis. After an awkward silence, she joins him in a helicopter heading to the Olympic Stadium as the corgis worried look on.

Hoovering above the stadium, Queen Elizabeth and James Bond then parachute into the stadium with the British flag on their parachutes. Or did they? Nah, the pair were obviously trained impersonators, but it made for an excellent opening to the Games. Shortly after the “jump”, Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh appeared from inside the stadium and came to their seats.

It was certainly a memorable evening! Watch the entire skit below:
