The Princess of Wales’s ‘Together at Christmas’ Carol Service is set to air on television tonight.
The annual carol service will be shown on ITV1 and ITVX. It was filmed on 6 December at Westminster Abbey.
It will be the fourth edition of the carol service and is sponsored by the Royal Foundation. It is a co-production between The Royal Foundation and BBC Studios Events Productions. Members of the Royal Family joined Catherine for the service focusing on love and empathy.
Ahead of the service, young performers from Restore the Music will entertain the 1,600 guests who have supported their communities through volunteering. Westminster Abbey’s decorations this year are inspired by nature. The Abbey’s renowned choir will perform carols; Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean and Gregory Porter will also perform.
The Princess of Wales will begin the service with a special introduction and Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald will narrate the show. Three community films will also be shown featuring Worcestershire Gingerbread Group, Beyond Cornwall and Sankofa Songsters.
The illustration for the front cover of the Order of Service for the ‘Together at Christmas’ Carol Service was revealed earlier this month.
Artist Charlie Mackesey designed the illustration for the front cover of the Order of Service.
The illustration for the front cover features a group of people embracing each other with Westminster Abbey in the snow in the background. The words, ‘How did I help?’ ‘You were by my side. Which was everything.’ are featured.
The service will be broadcast as part of ‘Royal Carols: Together At Christmas,’ a special program airing on ITV1 and ITVX at 7:30 pm on Christmas Eve. It will also be available on ABC in Australia, TVNZ in New Zealand and BritBox in the US and Canada. The carol service will air again on Christmas Day at 6:00 am.
