Tea Party at Windsor Castle

The Princess of Wales hosted a tea party for some of those she met in June during the Three Peaks Challenge. 

Earlier this week, the Princess of Wales hosted a special tea party at Windsor Castle. The Princess invited some of those whom she had the opportunity to meet during her Three Peaks Challenge earlier this June.

Catherine’s fellow participants and their families were treated to tea and sweet treats as they spoke about the challenges they face. Attendees included Albie-Junior, who was born without a fibula and raised funds for a local football club.

On social media, Kensington Palace released a touching video with a personal message from Catherine saying in part, “It was a pleasure to welcome other Three Peaks Challenge participants and their families to Windsor Castle. Behind every summit was a personal story of resilience, determination and hope.”

Catherine’s Three Peaks Challenge was to raise funds for The Royal Marsden, where she had sought treatment for her own cancer diagnosis, for a new centre of wellbeing. The funds raised for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity support more people with cancer to benefit from holistic care.

Support is also given for research into how these can best work alongside clinical cancer treatments to help patients every step of the way. The goal is to create a blueprint for change, so supportive care becomes a standard part of cancer treatment nationally.

The Princess of Wales recently returned to The Royal Marsden to visit those receiving treatment and see the new Centre for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery, which will reshape the future of cancer care and support more people living through and beyond a cancer diagnosis.
