Sarah, Duchess of York has joined TikTok and shared a message about her cancer journey on the social media app.
The mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie shared her first video explaining how it felt to be diagnosed with breast cancer.
In her first video on the popular app, she spoke about how it felt once she was given the news.
“The drive from Royal Free to Edward VII Hospital was 40 minutes, and I just didn’t speak. I couldn’t speak. It’s really interesting for me not to speak. I couldn’t express myself. I just shut down.
“It was easier not to ask for support and just to deal with it because that’s what I’m used to, that’s what I can do, that’s what I was taught. It’s only now that I am really proud of my scars. They’re really important.”

Sarah also put in the caption comforting words for those battling cancer: “For anyone going through this now, know that you are not alone.”
She also announced that she is now patron of Prevent Breast Cancer, an organisation “that is dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer.”
The Duchess of York was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer in June 2023. She underwent a mastectomy and reconstruction surgery later on.
Sarah is the first member of the extended Royal Family to join TikTok.
