Queen Camilla has been made honorary liveryman of the worshipful company of fan makers.

She received the new honour in a special ceremony at Clarence House, alongside the Duchess of Gloucester.

The Queen was given a gown by Peter Dove, the master fanmaker. The company had received a special dispensation to carry out the ceremony at Clarence as it usually takes place within the Square Mile of the City of London.

Queen Camilla told the company clerk that she was thrilled as she loved fans and even has a collection of them.
