The Princess Royal will travel to the Netherlands to attend the Market Garden commemorations alongside King Willem-Alexander.
The announcement came on Friday as the Airborne Commemoration month was kicked off at the Airborne Museum Hartenstein in Oosterbeek. This year marks 80 years since Operation Market Garden.
The British ambassador, Joanna Roper, said, “It is a great honour to announce that Princess will be present at the commemorations this month.”
King Willem-Alexander’s confirmed attendance will be at the Airborne Landings and Commemoration in Ede on 21 September. Hundreds of paratroopers will make parachute jumps to honour their predecessors.
