The Prince and Princess of Wales have welcomed the Emir and Sheikha Jawaher of Qatar.

The Emir and his wife arrived yesterday afternoon at London Stansted Airport, where they were greeted by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar, and The Viscount Hood, Lord in Waiting, who greeted them on behalf of King Charles.

Earlier today, the Prince and Princess of Wales greeted the Emir and Sheikha Jawaher at their residence on behalf of the King.

They then travelled with the Emir and Sheikha Jawaher to the Horse Guards Parade, where they received a ceremonial welcome.

They were formally welcomed by King Charles at the Royal Pavilion on Horse Guards Parade. Queen Camilla has had to pull out of this engagement due to the ongoing effects of a chest infection. Presentations were made, the Guard of Honour gave a Royal Salute and the Qatari National Anthem was played.

The Emir and the King inspected the Guard of Honour.

There will be a State Banquet tonight.
