The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a statement of condolence after a stabbing rampage took place in Australia.

On X (formerly Twitter), the Prince and Princess said: “We are shocked and saddened by the terrible events in Sydney earlier today. Our thoughts are with all those affected, including the loved ones of those lost and the heroic emergency responders who risked their own lives to save others.”

They signed it, “W & C” indicating they personally sent the tweet.

Six people are dead and several injured after a stabbing attack at a mall in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday afternoon.

The 40-year-old attacker was shot dead on the scene by the police. At the moment, it is believed he acted alone and that this is not terror-related.

This is one of Australia’s worst mass murders in years.
