Editor-in-chief Heidi Frederikke Sigdal brought weekly magazines from the past 80 years, which the Queen leafed through with great pleasure.

At the celebration in the Opera, Heidi Frederikke Sigdal highlighted Queen Margrethe: “For more than 50 years, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe has been a role model for girls and women. In Denmark and in the rest of the world. With impressive clarity, a great intellect and admirable creativity, Her Majesty has, since she took over the throne in 1972, shown generations of women that no task is too big – regardless of gender. A constitutional amendment became Danish history when Her Majesty made Denmark a kingdom of queens in 1972. Since then, Her Majesty has administered the office with both respect, innovation and Her Majesty’s very own style. Her Majesty’s strong personality and courage to express herself through art, crafts and fashion have shown girls and women that you should dare to be yourself. Even if you stand out. Her Majesty is proof that women can be serious, professionally skilled, intellectual, humorous, creative and colourful all at the same time. Her Majesty has had an invaluable influence in inspiring women across generations to dare to lead and to do so with respect and authenticity. All based on a great understanding and feeling for the history Her Majesty stands on, the time Her Majesty currently finds herself in, and the time to come.”
