Photo agencies have pulled the newly released image by Kensington Palace of the Princess of Wales and her three children, claiming the photo appears to have been “manipulated.”
The Associated Press explained why they removed the photograph from their platforms: “The first photo of Kate, the Princess of Wales since her abdominal surgery nearly two months ago was issued Sunday after weeks of speculation about her whereabouts.
“But the photo was later removed by The Associated Press and other news agencies because it appeared to be manipulated, fueling more conjecture.”
They further added: “AP later retracted the image because, at closer inspection, it appeared the source had manipulated the image in a way that did not meet AP’s photo standards. The photo shows an inconsistency in the alignment of Princess Charlotte’s left hand.”
The AP, Reuters, Getty and AFP are some of the news agencies that have pulled the photo.
At the time of publishing this article, Kensington Palace had not commented on the decision made by the photo agencies.
Kensington Palace released a photo of Catherine, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis on Mother’s Day with a message from the Princess of Wales thanking the public for the “kind wishes and continued support over the last two months.”
The Prince of Wales took the image earlier this week in Windsor.
