There will be no public event to mark the first anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Like his predecessor, King Charles will mark the day of his accession privately. There were reportedly no plans for a private gathering either.

The royals will spend the summer at Balmoral, where Queen Elizabeth died on 8 September of last year.
