King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima have confirmed their attendance for King Charles III’s coronation.
However, as they already had a previous engagement for the night before, the Princess of Orange and Princess Beatrix will attend the reception on the day before the coronation. They will not attend the coronation.
4 and 5 May are important dates in the Netherlands because of the Second World War. On 4 May, the country remembers the war dead during the Remembrance of the Dead. The King and Queen usually attend the remembrance on Dam Square and hold two minutes of silence with the rest of the country. On 5 May, the liberation is celebrated. The King and Queen will attend the Liberation concert in the evening as the country celebrates during the day as well.
