King Charles, as King of Canada, received Louise Arbour at Buckingham Palace yesterday.

The King met with the new Canadian Governor General days ahead of her installation ceremony at the Senate building.

The Palace did not release any details of the conversations, but official photos were taken. The Office of the GC noted that, during the private audience, the King invested Arbour as “extraordinary Commander of the Order of Military Merit (C.M.M.), and Commander of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces (C.O.M.).”

Louise Arbour will be installed as Canada’s 31st Governor General on 8 June in downtown Ottawa.
