King Charles won’t receive a warm welcome from everyone when he lands in Australia with Queen Camilla.

Several senior politicians have snubbed the King of Australia and refused to meet him on his visit to the country.

When the King and Queen arrive Down Under on Friday, 18 October, no state premiers will welcome their monarch at the reception in Canberra on 21 October.

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns will not attend the reception, but he will reportedly be at other events with King Charles and Queen Camilla during their trip to Australia.

The Daily Mirror cited a royal source that called the snub “deeply unprofessional.”

However, despite the lack of support from some politicians, Their Majesties are looking forward to their visit to the Commonwealth country and their first as King and Queen of Australia.

“The King and Queen are incredibly excited to visit Australia and Samoa and are very much looking forward to getting out and meeting as many people as possible during their visit,” a source said to the Mirror.

This will be King Charles’s 14th visit Down Under, but the first to a British realm since his reign began.
