King Charles visited a Christmas market in Battersea Power Station in south-west London.
He was received by a community choir, which sang “We Three Kings” as he arrived. He joked, “You must be frozen. You’ll need a stiff drink.” He then met with Apple CEO Tim Cook before receiving a serenade from singer Raye.
He was introduced to 90-year-old Rita Kelly, who worked at the power station when it was still operational. She said she was “honoured” to talk to King Charles. She added, “Working here was a very happy time.”
King Charles then headed to the Curated Makers Market, which was founded by Megan Jones, who had received from the King’s Trust, formerly known as the Prince’s Trust.
