King Charles and Queen Camilla have greeted the public in their first engagement of their Australian tour.

Their Majesties’ first engagement was at St Thomas’ Church where the public was invited to greet their King and Queen.

As a thank you for the reception, the King and Queen shook hands with those waiting with the King seeming concerned that some waited hours for their arrival.

The crowd also gave three cheers for Queen Camilla and told His Majesty, “We love the King.”

Several children were seen waving Australian flags as King Charles and Queen Camilla walked over to meet them.

They later thanked everyone for coming out to welcome them by saying on social media: “Thank you to everyone who came out to St Thomas’ Church this morning to say hello to Their Majesties as their first day of engagements in Australia got underway.”

The King and Queen kicked off their Australian tour today after a day of rest after arriving Down Under.
