The Royal Palace has issued an update on King Norodom Sihamoni’s health.

The Ministry of the Royal Palace in Cambodia has issued an update on the health of King Norodom Sihamoni (72), following his major surgery for prostate cancer earlier this month. The King remains hospitalised in Beijing.

The Royal Palace announced on Monday that His Majesty is receiving treatment from highly specialised physicians and is showing signs of “slight improvement.” The King has been receiving intravenous therapy, ultrasound examinations and various medications under “continuous monitoring.”

The medical team has now recommended that His Majesty remain hospitalised for further treatment and observation for the time being.

King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath have expressed their gratitude for the many prayers and messages of goodwill received from the Cambodian people and from those around the world.
