Prince Emmanuel of Belgium has left the UCLL University College in Leuven after one semester.

The Prince has transferred to ISTEC in Brussels for a French-language business development course, not far from the family’s home at Laeken Castle.

He had been studying the English-based International Business Management and Marketing since September 2025 and had completed his exams in January. His new course continues his studies from UCLL, but in a more practical way.

The Belgian Royal Palace confirmed the news to Belgian news HLN.

HLN also reported Prince Emmanuel, the second son and third child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, struggled at school due to his dyslexia and reportedly did not receive the support he needed.

The Royal Palace shared that the Prince could continue his studies on the same timeframe as long as he completes his exams.

Prince Emmanuel graduated from the English-languageĀ International School of Brussels in June 2024. He enrolled at university after a gap year.

Prince Emmanuel is third in the line of succession behind his older sister, Princess Elisabeth, and older brother, Prince Gabriel.
