King Philippe of Belgium has welcomed his first cousin, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, for his state visit to Belgium, which coincidentally began on the Grand Duke’s birthday.
King Philippe was joined by his wife as was the Grand Duke. During the welcome ceremony at the Royal Palace in Brussels, people in the crowd sang Happy Birthday.
Inside the palace, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess María Teresa signed the Golden Book.
A visit to the Grand Place and city hall followed, as well as a state banquet in the evening.
The state visit is set to go on for two more days.
