Princess Akiko of Mikasa has joined the Monegasque royals at their annual Rose Ball.
Princess Akiko is on an unofficial visit to Luxembourg and Monaco. In Luxembourg, she gave a lecture on Japanese art at a museum in Luxembourg.
Her visit to Monaco marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Monaco.
Princess Akiko, Princess Charlene and Prince Albert officially launched the “Japan in Monaco” event in the forecourt of the Grimaldi Forum. Princess Akiko also held a speech. Several more events will be held over the years to mark the anniversary.
Princess Akiko also attended the Monégasque Sainte Dévote Tournament as Honorary Patron of the Japan Rugby Football Union.
