Princess Aiko of Japan hasn’t even graduated yet, but she already has a job lined up.

The only child of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako will start her new job at the Japanese Red Cross Society on 1 April, the Imperial Household Agency announced. She will be a contract employee.

Princess Aiko is currently in her last year of Japanese Language and Literature at Gakushuin University, and she will graduate soon.

Her mother is currently the Honorary President of the Japanese Red Cross Society, while her father served as Honorary Vice President while he was still the Crown Prince. Princess Aiko joined her parents last year at the Red Cross Headquarters as they paid tribute to rescue workers who died in the line of duty.

Regarding her new job, Princess Aiko said, “I am grateful to have been offered a job as a contract worker for the Japanese Red Cross Society starting April this year. I am happy and humbled to be able to work for the Japanese Red Cross, which I have always been interested in. I will continue to learn various things and work hard with the awareness that I am a member of society, so I hope that I can be of some help to people and society, even if it is only in a small way.”
