King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia is to undergo an operation for prostate cancer in Beijing.

It was previously shared that the King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni (72), was diagnosed with prostate cancer following examinations by specialists in Beijing.

Earlier today, 18th April, it was announced that after the “most rigorous evaluation by a team of renowned and skilled doctors”, His Majesty would now require an operation to restore full health. The operation is to begin today.

A statement from the Royal Palace said,

His Majesty (…) has agreed to undergo surgical treatment as prescribed at the Beijing Capital Hospital starting on April 18, 2026. After undergoing surgical treatment, His Majesty will remain in the hospital to continue monitoring his health as prescribed at the Beijing Capital Hospital for a period of time.

His Majesty the King (…), and Her Majesty the Queen Mother of the Khmer Nation, will return to their homeland after His Majesty the King has recovered and regained his good health, (…)
